COVID can stop everything—except Domino’s media plan.

When COVID first hit, every brand on the planet scrambled, trying to figure out the right thing for them to do. Domino’s was deemed an essential business who could safely deliver affordable, hot meals and offer jobs to those who suddenly found themselves without one. So, we kept the ads running.

We shot the first-ever COVID ad filmed entirely through Zoom, featuring our employees who offered to help with jobs. Then, we shot another Zoom ad featuring our customers. We got crafty and revised pre-COVID footage with CGI face masks to make sure our employees were seen following best practices. We also produced the first SAG shoot during COVID, with a remote director and while following meticulous safety protocols, to promote our new, safe, contactless carryout method called Carside Delivery. And of course, we shot a campaign within quarantine by filming one of our own team member’s family at their home in Homemade.

All in all, COVID forced us all to get scrappier and smarter with how we concepted, wrote, and filmed our ads.
